Under Ms. Lange profile on Dakota High School's website lists several LGTBQ resources, including, but not limited to, the website Amaze.org that is recommended for elementary aged children.

One of the most alarming resources provided to children is The Trevor Project

When you go onto the website a "Quick Exit" message pops up immediately (promoting secrecy from parents):

Once in, these are some of the topics:

There is also a place to be able to meet and chat with others, with an explanation on how to quit and clear the child's browser history. Possibly leading to child trafficking?

While the district website technically lists these books, websites and external links, many are difficult to find. This makes it hard for parents to exercise their right to review content or make informed decisions.  This creates a false sense of transparency. This practice is often referred to as “passive non-transparency” or “burying the information”. CVS Watch calls for clear boundaries and guidelines on sensitive material to minors. These "educational materials", including supplemental links, shall be posted in a clearly labeled, easy-to-navigate RESTRICTED section of the district website, accessible to all parents and/or guardians without the need for deep searching or special knowledge.

A question that comes to our minds is what other information is given out directly to the students or on the district student laptops without parental consent?

Stephanie Lange is also directly involved with an organization called Rise UCC, who educates through a program entitled Educate 2 Eradicate Hate (“E2EH”).  They have held events on numerous topics, including, but not limited to: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Critical Race Theory, Book Choice and Curricula in Schools (a/k/a sexually explicit books), Transgender Awareness, and more.

Rise UCC, is also an activist for Black Lives Matter, and not only a Gold Sponsor for Macomb County Pride Festival, but a “Children & Teen Area Sponsor” in 2023, now retitled “Young Human Zone” in 2024, who also host Drag Storytime and Drag Performances in Mt. Clemens.

Outside of Ms. Lange’s office at Dakota High School, she has many “informative” flyers available to students.  This one highlights several different social media, chat groups, teen dating apps (i.e. Grindr – geared towards gay, bi and trans people, which can also locate other users nearby; Omegle – service randomly pairs users in one-on-one chat and/or sessions; and kik – specifically stating that it has anonymity features and has weak parental control mechanisms). These apps will collect your child’s data and could potentially lead them to predators on standby.

Ms. Lange also heavily promotes and helps raises money for Camp Talahi (another Rise UCC venture), which is a trans / gender diverse / non-binary camp for “kindergarteners through senior citizens”.

Should individuals being so heavily involved in developing or promoting content related to sex education, LGBTQ+ topics, drag queen storytime, or gender transitioning rights for minors be in direct or unsupervised roles working so closely with children? These are deeply sensitive areas, and it’s critical that any involvement with minors be handled with FULL parental transparency, age-appropriate materials, and community oversight.

Granted, simply being involved in these topics does not imply misconduct, however, it does promote legitimate concerns about transparency and appropriateness.
