There is an attack on our children to destroy their innocence, identity, morality, peace of mind, gender, cohesiveness with others, emotional well-being, relationship with their parents and the family unit. They are being groomed sexually, opening the door for pedophiles. Child abuse of this magnitude constitutes Crimes Against Humanity.

Click HERE for a list of over 300 books that have been identified as inappropriate in the Chippewa Valley School District libraries. The list is organized by school and has been compiled from multiple sources. The primary source is [https://www.ratedbooks.org/], a group of concerned parents—just like us—who have been advocating for better resources to assess the content of books accessible to children and
adolescents (who are now being labeled as young adults by publishing companies to generate more book sales). This group provides detailed, easy-to-understand reviews of books, focusing on objectionable content such as profanity, nudity, and sexual themes.

We have asked Chippewa Valley School District’s Board of Education to label mature content books, just like television, movies, video games, and music industries do, and restrict access to books that may be but disturbing and harmful to most children. Books should be rated based on sexually explicit content, violence, drug and alcohol use, and intent to persuade children towards a particular point of view regarding controversial topics.

We also want the schools to require parental permission BEFORE children have access to books in these categories. Ron Roberts, Superintendent, and Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education voted to keep mature content books in the libraries for all to read and gave parents instructions to opt-out of each individual book that their child cannot check-out and submit it to their school, thus making it cumbersome, if not impossible, on parents who don’t know that these types of books are even in the media centers.

Our proposal: Restrict access and allow parents to OPT-IN if they wish to have their child subjected to this material.
